Why Dickens wrote Great Expectations.

Charles Dickens wrote the novel Great Expectations because he wanted to show, that even with money, that doesn't automatically make you a "great" and "good" person. It also takes heart. He shows this through, irony. Because at first he was a good and innocent child with no money. But once, he has the desire to become a gentlemen, is when he became corrupted and is more rude when he is a "gentelman".
